I feel alive

strand6–11 weeks in India in a nutshell–

I feel alive when I jump into cold water and let it carry me

I feel alive when I let go of ideas and plans and get in the flow

I feel alive when things get weird, when the density and interconnectedness of things and people becomes so obvious that I can feel it with every cell of my body

I feel alive when I find myself throwing up on one beach in the morning light – because the ayurvedic doctor says so – and dive into the black sea from another beach at night

I feel alive when I stumble through sandy harp sounds to then open my eyes to the rhythmic dance of a trance party

I feel alive when I laugh my eyes out with my sister when we have our dragon fruit moment

I feel alive when I see the beauty of the land, feel a breeze moving me gently, when I listen to silence in the nothingness of nature

I feel alive when eyes of desire meet, when a smile makes me jump off my bike right into the arms of a stranger

I feel alive when I spend Christmas on a rock above the sea where two souls meet in the full moon light

I feel alive when I make love to a stranger without even touch and experience the power of each element

I feel alive when my whole body is vibrating, shaking, when heaven and earth unite and the only thing I can do is laugh. And laugh and laugh

I feel alive when I let my body do its thing, completely immerse in whatever is there

I feel alive when someone pulls up my skirt and leads me blindfolded into the ocean

I feel alive when India lets its tastes explode in my mouth, when I walk through the streets and lick this vibrant buzziness of Indian life

I feel alive when I paint, I feel alive when I dig my hands into colour

I feel alive when I draw lines of ash on the body of a lover

I feel alive when I breathe with all the consciousness there is

I feel alive when my heart aches so much it feels it’s gonna burst

I feel alive when I cry my eyes out in Savasana

I feel alive when angels kiss me tenderly

I feel alive when I write down these words, look up and see a spiderman and 3 naked babies play in a boat

I feel alive when I stand on top of a hill and see what’s behind it:

When I see
that there are
endless opportunities life has to offer

I feel alive.
